More than 300 attend Bird Island Park gala
PONTE VEDRA BEACH — The Bird Island Park board of directors, The Players Championship and St. Johns County thank numerous vendors and community members who helped make the “Be a Player at Bird Island Park” family event a success.
The free community event was held Oct. 5 at the future site of Bird Island Park, located behind the Ponte Vedra Library.
More than 300 children and their parents participated in the nature-themed exhibits and activities, and more than $400 was raised to support Bird Island Park.
Bird Island Park is expected to break ground in the next few months and be open to the public by early spring.
In 2002, a Ponte Vedra citizens’ group was formed with the mission of creating an innovative, intergenerational, environmentally friendly park for the local community. The Bird Island Park Board of Directors has worked to raise $800,000 of the needed $1.2 million. Read More…
