1st office building planned in Nocatee
A Ponte Vedra Beach chief executive officer will build the first 200,000 square feet of corporate office space in northern St. Johns County’s new Town of Nocatee.
Richard Willich, who owns Ponte Vedra-based Medical Development International and who developed numerous California properties, will oversee the three-building project.
Willich’s medical services technology business will occupy most of the largest of the three buildings.
The rest of the space will be leased as retail or office space.
The office park will be equipped with high-tech fiber optic loops, satellite communications and natural gas generators.
In planning the project, Willich said he worked with the PARC group to come up with a “distinctive design” that would set the architectural tone for Nocatee’s Town Center. With the input of architects Wakefield, Beasley and Associates, they agreed on a Spanish Renaissance style reminiscent of St. Augustine’s old Ponce de Leon Hotel, which is now part of Flagler College.
